Wow, it seems that I was under the impression that the strike would exceed the capability of the cable bringing the electricity into the house. However, I guess the surge current would flash through fast enough for the wire to carry it and damage equipment. How in h*ll does a MOV stop that much current from flowing? Wouldn't the power arc over to another component anyway?
