In fact, I'm not even sure the bulb makers even realized their creations would last this long. Personally, I wouldn't mind someone simply re-creating one of these lamps... Would it really be so costly to do so?Maybe they draw excessive current or make noise... I don't know. I just find it strange that 100 years ago, they were able to make light bulbs that last so long, but are unable to do so today.
And even if it is money, let's say I paid $100 for a lamp that was expected to last a lifetime. If I spent $2 for a typical light bulb that lasts six months, in the long term, I'd actually be paying more.
