There is some treatment for tinnitus, but the standard ENT won't tell you about it because it isn't accepted mainstream treatment yet. See the following URLs about Tinnitus Retraining Therapy. I used to have bad hyperacusis with my tinnitus, and was greatly helped by a similar therapy at the Oregon Tinnitus and Hyperacusis Treatment Center.
