Great analysis: Remember that the Average (RMS) average in your figures is way above the median level. Music is not normaly (randomly) distributed in amplitude. It's a little like an atom. However - the Audibiliy of distortion components caused by higher level signal immediately followed by a quiet signal or vice versa has not been fully explored. Physicist will tell you that an Atom, or Molecule is mostly empty space at any instant. It is the distritribution of the molecule (Electrons, mostly) across space over time that provides its physical properties of dimension. Sound has similar properties, it is the distribution of sound across time that provides it acoustic character.
