I forgot to mention one other possible problem with the Bluejeans Cable IC hum tests.E. They do not specifically state whether or not the source end of the IC was connected, that is, it may have been an open circuit. Normally, in use, a cable has a source circuit connected to the input end, and this source circuit has an output impedance, which is usually quite low.
If they did not connect the cables to a source, and left them open circuit, this to would be unrealistic, and not representative of the real world. In fact, if this were the case, then the floating shield for the 1800F would have truly been left floating! It would have had no ground connection at all (they said they connected it to the ground of the RCA at the source end, but said nothing about connecting it to single ground via a source component!), and thus, the test would have been a false representation of what the cables would actually do in the real world.
