I've found the difference between BS artists and people who just communicate poorly is that with people who communicate poorly, you eventually converge on some kind of understanding and clarification of what's agreed upon and what's not. However, BS artists seem to come up with a never-ending sequence of bizarre statements, and if you question them, they respond with even more bizarre statements, sidestepping the original question. So every exchange leads to an ever-increasing level of misunderstanding until you eventually just give up (which is exactly what they want you to do). It's just another variation of "If you can't dazzle tham with brilliance, baffle them with bull****".
