Since classs A and tubes don't suffer the same effect, it is an interesting difference, which just happens to be consistent with anecdotal talk about ss vs tubes vs "A" sounding different.

It kinda has the feel of TIM, but instead of feedback prop delays, it's a thermal stage issue..

Hmm..If I drove one amp with hf, another with lf, and connected the two outputs with a load resistor, I could force the hf one to dissipate power internally from the lf signal. Then look at the hf output where the dissipation is the worst..as the hf amp would be fighting the lf.

Hypothetically, if the effect is present, the hf would do funny things(?) during the lf peak excursion..

Actually, a hf square wave would be better, then you could look at zero crossings directly for prop delay.

Course, I ain gonna do that with one of my amps...I like it when they don't blow up..

An inductor would work as well, but it'd be rather big I think.
