Technical and scientific discussion of amps, cables and other topics.

YES according to Audio Note.

Hi.

Contrary to convention wisdom, Audio Note England built & supplied a
pair of 2-way 8" woofer speaker system, of larger than a bookshelf
type size, but built like a tin box, so flimsy & light that one can hold it with one arm.

It amazed me big time by its natural sound, immaculately black piano glossy finsih, & its staggering price tage: some $15,000 greenbacks.

It was part of a complete Audio Note Japan system I auditioned some 5
yeara back in a 4,000 sq. ft condo residence of the region rep of Audio Note Japan who invited me there.

The sound was so natural, so lifelike & so effortless as if an orchestra was performing live somewhere in the huge living where I spent 4 hours intensive listening. I dropped my jaw big bigtime that I had to find where I dropped it. I just lost interest of going back to my humbe crappie audio at home for many weeks afterwards.

Want to make wild wild guess how much this Italian silver loaded
Audio Note Japan system stagged for? A quarter million greenbacks !!!

From turntable to speaker, from interconnnects, speaker cables, interwiring, transformers & chokes windings, caps etc etc all silver.
The flagship stereo amp alone, 'Kagon', using PPSE 300E power tubes,
hand-built by Konda-san, founder of Audio Note Japan, was tagged for
USD125,000!

Who said speaker cabinet got to built "rigid & damped"? This is a facutal reverse of our common belief yet the flimpsy built speaker system sounded so natural & so musical.

My thinking is could Audio Note England borrowed the idea of an musical instrument whereby the cabinet got to virbrate to produce music?
