I remember talking with Guy at, what I believe, was the last offical
TAN getogether in Riverside where he insisted the the Internet was a
fad and Bulletin Boards would be resurrected. Denial is a powerful force.That it is.
Howevern Guy did eventually migrate TAN to the Internet (www.tanet.com if memory serves).
The problem in my opinion was that he insisted on sticking to the subscription service model. If I recall correctly, you couldn't even read the forums without first subscribing.
I'd tried a number of times to get him to swich to a sponsor/advertising based system even back during the BBS days. But he insisted on subcriptions.
Oh well. :)
I do miss TAN and the nice people I met over the years.Ditto.
Though if things keep going like this, Prop Heads will turn into TAN. :)
