Go for the .6A. The capacitance in the power supply will probably add enough "surge" currents to warrant a larger isolation transformer. If you're really concerned with spike suppresion than I would recommend a spike suppresor not an isolation transformer. There are many on the commercial market to chose from and it is certainly easy enough to make your own.
