Give it up, man. These airhead freaks have no clue as to our concerns. Whatever their particular problem -- stupidity, simple ignorance, willful ignorance, visions of monetary gain, hairy palms -- they are unwilling or incapable of grasping the importance of the free flow of information in any community. They don't get it and/or they don't want to get it. Some are grandly cruising along on infantile power trips, others are deluded, some just don't give a crap. Whatever the cause, reasonable people are not going to get through to them.
