Has anyone had a chance to check this out, in depth, at NAMM or AES?I have some concerns about the signal processing, primarily A/D DSD conversion? It seems under-priced for its feature list. Where are they cutting corners?
Also, does anyone know how functional the USB2.0 connectivity is? Can it be used to turn the Tascam into an external DVD+RW recorder?
Does it have any internal mixing capability? That is, can one go directly out from a mic preamp and record a properly panned stereo signal, or do you end up with, for example, vocals in the left speaker, guitar in the right?
And how does one access the DSDIFF files without buying a high end turnkey like SADiE?
Thanks to anyone who has more details on this. The people I spoke with at Tascam know nothing more than is available in the press release and FAQ on the web.
