Pro Audio Asylum

Pro studio recording equipment and music production/industry.

I'm looking at starting to do some home recording, of jazz & acoustic stuff. I have the chance to pick an Audio/Technica 4047 mic, a dbx 586 dual channel tube mic pre, & not sure about what to record to. Maybe a Tascam 424 Mk II cassette. I am just looking for natural sounding recordings. ... Anybody familar with this gear or have any constructive comments ???
