How good are Pro Audio active speakers such as Mackies

I'm thinking of a system for CD playback using the Benchmark DAC-1 and Mackie HR624 speakers.
How would this compare to a system such as ARCAM CD192 CDP + ARCAM A 90 amp driving Paradigm S2's
