While my machine was already usb 2.0 enabled, somehow puttting in a new PCI USB card used by the m-audio only did the trick. I didn't know mice and idle printers took so much bandwidth away from the regular port!

I mean, it did the trick as far as the USB hiccups were concerned. I still have low level line outs. One problem at a time...
