The Hafler p7000 sounds beautiful for stereo (its a studio reference monitor amp). Its rated power (300/ch/8ohms) is very conservative. Check the specs. It seems to have more beef than a few 600watt (/ch/8ohm) amps I've had. Its got a fan though. The p3000 does not as I recall. The good news is you can have a p7000 for 400 bucks or so. Email me if you want find one.The venerable crown dc300 sounds great but you have to protect your speakers because it faithfully reproduces 0 hz. (DC). The Bryson reference amps are fab too. What you want is a reference monitor amp. The balanced inputs etc are a nice touch on this class of gear - you can run balanced to within a foot of one speaker thus having short speaker wires. (This assumes you have balanced outs on whatever you are driving it with)
