. I have a pair of DT48s and they are much akin to having your head in a vise on a long session. Very good reproduction BUT! I have four pair: Sennheiser 424 Beyer DT48, Sony MDRV7, and Koss Pro4AA. They all do different things some well and some not so well. The Sennheisers don't seal at all and are open air. The Koss seal very well and in recording isolate from acoustical feedback into a mic. The Sony set is the most compfortable but don't seal . The Beyer is an audiometric standard and has the best overall response but uncompfortable. Headphone use is a toss up between compfort, ie, the absence of listener fatigue and quality reproduction. I think you need to find all these models and try them on for compfort, their individual picadillos, and reproduction. Ray Hughes
