need another mixer

I have a behringer mixer. It's not that old but the sliders seem to have a lot of dead spots etc. I also need more channels. (14) What is a better one that I find and try to find used? This is just for at home stuff so I cannot go crazy ...to say the least. I have seen a few other behringer mixers on ebay but I am scared they will even be working properly since mine is only about 2 yrs old and has lots of problems and wasnt' used much either. What are other brands I should look for that aren't too costly?
