Contrary to Popular belief...The Sound Blaster Live Platnum is quite a card.
THOSE WHO have not had good results from the SB live, have either:
1. Did not turn their microphone off.
2. Did not disable their old sound card in the bio's
3. Passing a negative word without having bought one.
4. Took no time reading the manuals.
5. Had their line input on, and not used, or grounded.
6. Has other motives.
My secondary sound card is the SB Live. It hangs right with the 2K + digidesign, and is NOISE and DISTORTION free.
You wiull be plesently surprised, and if you do not like it, you can take it back.
Just be sure to use it correctly. The SPDIF is ULTRA clean.
Don't get the Live Value. Just the live platnum, or Platnum 5.1
