I would never worry about a $300 speaker sounding "too good."

Take a look at what your favorite mix engineers are using. Guess what, they're all using something different! From Auratones and NS10's to ATC and B&W and everything in between. What do these speakers have in common? Nothing, but these people all get great results. What does that mean? Use a monitor that you're comfortable with and that works for you.

If there clearly was a best speaker, everyone would be using it. But there isn't and they aren't. Granted, many speakers are better than others, but that can also depend on a number of outside factors, like the room. Frankly, if you're in the sub-$600 range, there's no reason to split hairs from one model to the next.
