This is not what you want to hear, but in the pro forum we look at things a bit differently than elsewhere. To paraphrase an old saying, those who can play/create music do, those who can't are called audiophiles.
That being said, cables don't matter much. Nothing is worth more than a buck a foot. Passive components aren't a good idea. The single most important change you can make is to get everything in your system over to balanced. BTW, to add a turntable you'll need a high gain active pre-amp with RIAA equalization. A professional quality pre-amp with balanced outs is what you should be looking at.
