My advice is to just buy some software. Wavelab is only 99 euros. My experience with freebees is you get what you pay for.

Cool edit is free somewhere on the web..but stay away from cracks and hacks. Certain way to screw up your dll files ad infinitum.

I think you can get a 40 day eval of n-track for free. Search it out.
