I use the LSR28 and they play really loud without distortion. They sound great too. The LSR32P use the same tweeter so it would be no diffrence there. If you are to monitor heave rock/metall, I think they're to "nice". I think you need something bigger, perhaps also a bit rougher, like JBL (4425), 4430 or 4435.
What are you to use them for? Near or far? About the power-amp, you could almost use anything with enough power. The quality in any serious amp today is good enough. BTW, the power-amp for the tweeter in the LSR28P is a power OP-amp. (They are quite good nowadays).
