Carver or Dynaco for monitoring?

Pro studio recording equipment and music production/industry.

I have a Carver PM-600 and a Dynaco ST-70, and I was wondering if either of these are useable for monitoring with small speakers like Tannoy Reveal or similar. I'm guessing the Carver is more of a PA amp, but I don't know anything about it. Is it too powerful for small speakers like that? Is the ST-70 too colored to use for monitoring, or will that be fine for a home-studio environment?
