There's a lot of mics out there. I'd suggest that she listen to some bluegrass recordings where she likes the sound of the female vocalist, and then see what mic was used. Also, remember that the mic is just the first piece in the chain: the preamp and compressor play a big role as well. Lastly, a good mic for controlled studio recordings might not be the same "best mic" for banging around during live performances.
