mic pre for Rode NT1A

I'm thinking of getting a Rode NT1A microphone. I've read that a decent mic pre-amp is also vital to getting a good sound. Right now I just use the pre that's built into my mixer.
Does anybody have a recommendation for a decent mic pre that would be good to use in conjunction with the Rode NT1A for rock vocals.
Something under $300... I don't want to spend much more on the pre than I do on the mic.
