ac adapter problem

I acquired an older (80's?) Soundcraft mixing board without the power cord/adapter(17v).....Contacted soundcraft people via email..they want to charge me $700 for replacement!..Am I not understanding something?...Can 17v power supplies be had somewhere else?...like the way this board looks....just wanna hook it up to a small pa in my basement...Don't care about phantom power...Is there anything I can do besides fork out that kind of money??
