Why not just use line mixers? Its the simplest kind of mixer, there's gobs of em out there in the marketplace, and they are cheap. If you want simple see Radio Design Labs http://www.rdlnet.com/ru-mx4.htm They have a 1/3 rack space 5 channel mic/line mixer. I'm not sure if the cascade input uses up a channel on that box - so you might only have 13 channels by the time you are done. I've owned a lot of their little problem solving boxes, and they work. Audio quality is good.
