HiI would like to purchase a PC that I can also use as a basis for a small home studio and do a bit mixing / recording and basically develop my hobby.
I am shopping around for a new PC at the moment. Can someone tell what the basica requirements would be?
For example, how many PCI slots would I need? Are 2 free PCI slots enough? Do I basically just need a digital I/O sound card? What software should I look for?
I have 6 channel mixer, microphones, a RNC compressor at the moment. Do I still need an effects generator? Are there software that can do this instead? I would like to record to hard disk and then transfer to CD.
Lots of questions but I am starting afresh.
Thank you for your patience, Merry X'mas
