Aphex 1100 and testing the 61NP tubes

Hi:
I have been using an Aphex 1100 mic preamplifier which has the Russian 61NP tubes, one per channel, installed.
How does one test these tubes?
I have at least four excellent tube checkers, but no way to evaluate these tubes unless I can model them with an existing WESTERN tube of some sort.
Has anybody been successful in doing this?
The factory also recommended substituting a pair of Telefunken 12AT7, if available and I do happen to have some of them. You would have to change the filament voltage switch position inside the preamp, but this seems easily accomplished.
