I recommend the Sony MD-JE-330 over the Sharp MD's. The Sony is also more reliable too. Many of these are used in broadcasting. This unit has ATRAC Type R (24 Bits) and is a current model. They can be had for under $200 with a bit of looking. Hope this helps you.
