Ok this is a loaded question, but since I am new I would like to get the liSTs ideas on three different systems. First, I have only $25,000 to put on a system and no I do not wish to donate $20,000 to yours and spend only $5000 on mine (I just know someone will ask).
In the Atlanta area I have numerous systems to choose from so here it is from high end to low end.
SYSTEM 1 (Low End)
Denon 5800 Amp
Sony SA CD/DVD (about 2500.00)
Vienna Accoustics Beethovens
Total system app $12,000 with cables, amp stand....
System 2 (Mid)
Conrad Johnson SS Amp
Conrad Johnson SS Pre-Amp
SACD-1 Cd
B&W 802
Total System app $19,000.00
System 3 (Hi-End)
Plinius 250 Amp
New Plinius Pre-Amp (forgot designation)
EAD CD/DVD
Blue Herons
Total System app $25,000
Each of these systems sound good. Yes, the higher I go up in equipment the better the overall sound, but is the overall expense worht the few % points better in sound? I desire to stick to the combo of the above systems as I will receive a discount when purchasing all from one dealer. What does the liST suggest? If I do not speand all the money, well that is allot of CDs
