Thanks for your response! I already know about some of these cautions and for band purposes would probably use these in a fairly large rehearsal room...not concert hall dimentions...but a carpeted room that is not real "lively" sounding. However, there is a train track fairly nearby...so thanks for that warning!! Would a smaller, vintage ribbon mic, or some other model work better in smaller rooms you think?
I am also aware of the damage which cab happen due to voltage and strong breath into the mic. The preamps I have have phantom power that I assume would be out of the line when turned off. I record my band live alot in small clubs and probably would not be using these mics in those situations unless I knew it was a large arena area and safely away from customers or drunks coming up and singing into them, etc...JHedger
