Battery powered multitrack field recording

Hello all,
I am trying to set up a system that will allow me to record multitrack (at least 4 tracks simultaneously) in locations where I can't count on there being AC power.
This is what I have been thinking: A laptop based system using the Echo Layla for a recording device. My problem is finding a battery operated board. The best I have come up with is the Behringer . Is there a downside to using this kind of system? My main concern would be that the wouldn't have good enough sound quality. Also, of course, I'd probably have to get another mixer for postproduction/more demanding recording.
