The beauty of this and any other forum is the ability to publicly display answers and openly offer opinions and still allow animinity. This being said I would like to address your answer concerning the original posted question and address your most valuable views. The question that I originally answered was about two compeating low line products. My answer was that they are both crap!! I stand by this answer. In answer to your question "Have you used a drive rack?" The answer is yes!,and I will reinterate my answer "they are both crap"!! I see in your answer that you feel that the drive rack is "a nice little unit".Your opinions are welcome here just as mine are.If you are really a pro engineer (more on that topic shortly) then I am sure you know all about the faults of both units.I am in awe of your capacity to have "installed and used all the big boy toys that I can imagine".Your "inventory of a couple hundred k$ of stuff " that you claim certainly puts you into the league of a serious part time Pro ??? I honestly could not have imagined all of the technology that has transpired in the world of pro audio within my working period of the past 35 years. This time line would also include the current sad state of poor technicians, lack of real degreed engineers involved in preformance audio (and recording) as opposed to the wanna be bull shit fader jockeys that will never take the time to get the necessary education to entitle themselves to the honor of a degree but none the less admiringly refer to themselves as "engineers".If you are truly a degreeed engineer I believe that you will understand what I am talking about. If you are a wanna be title seeker and "Engineer" status is your dream, then your comments and opinions are not of any value towards advancement of the craft.I personally have had it with the "engineers" who show up to work with the "talent" and do not have any understanding of gain structure, musical blend or the intelligence to ask for help when they are in over their heads much less have any credentials.Get the required BASIC knowledge that an engineering degree offers and then USE that knowledge to advance your craft.Little by little you will see the pitfalls of poorly designed equipment and then be able to comment intelligently about why those pieces of equipment are shit.My comments are fashioned in an appropreate manner and are aimed to answer the original posted question.I do have a "cause" that I am ranting about. That cause would be to convey to the world that pro sound is a professional trade.I for one am tired of the incorrect references and stupid fuckin questions being posted from people calling themselves "engineers".If it was not all about capitolization on the dollar most of this cheap crap would not have been built.Today you get three microphones together and the owner is an "engineer" with a sound company.By not "shutting up" and speaking out I believe that I am helping others. This help is targeted to those who want to learn more. Not to those who already imagine to know it all.If I have to be pissed off then that just proves that I still have a passion for my craft.I will get up on my soap box and explain to you why your methods are not the correct fashion (if so required) and I have the required education to back my claims. Those that have learned from me know what it takes to survive in the world of Pro Audio. Finally "real engineers" make their money from solving problems, not from mixing sound on Mackies with Beringer E.Q.s or displaying there people skills. Those Mackie personal would be the part time fader assholes that I spoke of earlier who are screwing up the entire price structure for the full time pros. Those "engineers" are the weekend warriors who are in the biz for the party and cool factor! My people skills are not the question here. The question here is DBX or Beringer??? The answer is "They are both crap!!!"
