There are many possibilities for doing just that now. I try to keep current by reading Electronic Musician, Mix Mag. and EQ Mag. The array of available technologies is staggering.I play around with a Pulsar board (4xSHARC DSPs, entensible to 34 with multiple bus options). Amazing product. If only the biggER Scope/DP board and development kit was less expensive..... Are you listening at www.creamware.de ?
I agree that IEEE1394B (up to 1,6GB and even 3,2GB) will be part of the equation.
