I am in the planning stages of building a nice mic preamp
for recording pourposes.It need to have balanced inputs
and outputs and of course phantom power.
I wanted to go with a tube circuit but i lack knowledge
in working with tubes. I came across an interesting circuit on TNT-audio that uses an op- amp in a special circuit and has the ability to drive low- impedance stages but i wonder if it provides enough
gain(i will need at least 40db).I would use transformers for balancing the inputs and outputs.This should provide
an incredible ability to drive any load.
Please let me know if i am totally of track here.
