Crossover hum

I changed crossover from a Behringer CX3400 to a BSS FDS366 keeping the same cables. With the BSS there is a lot of hum. The use is for home audio and the input output is unbalanced. The input is from a CD player into a 100k pot and to the crossover. When I changed for another CD player the hum was reduced but still very audible.
Any ideas why the BSS is humming and not the Behringer?
