I used to sell pro audio so I am pretty familiar with the HR824, Tannoy, JBL, Genelec, etc. The Mackie's can't be beat for the money, I have a pair in my home studio. Their top end is easier on the ears than Genelec while not sacrificing detail while the Genelecs do have tighter bass but are horrendously overpriced. Check put www.prorec.com for a powered monitor shootout, I pretty much agree with their findings.
