Thoughts on Mackie HR824

I am looking for some monitors for recording and general listening. I heard the mackie hr824 and am impressed. What's everyone else's thoughts? I think they sound very clean, good bass response, and seem to be easy to listen to (long term?). I know they are expensive, but seem seem worth the $. I was wondering if anyone has heard the Behringer Truth Monitors, and any thoughts. The other monitors I have considered are the JBL powered speakers which I have not heard. I have considered the passive speaker and bryston amplifier way, but I am not sure what would give me the same results or better sound. Thanks for any info. Steve
