One more thing. For a limited time Sony experimented with V-fets. One product, the Sony MX20 used fets in a discreet, minimalist design. These were produced in the late seventies. It was four output busses, four VU meters, limited low and high pass filtering, pan pots and four accessory busses. The mic preamps are really decent. You can pick these up on ebay pretty cheaply. The MX 16 is an unbalanced version of the same just with no input or output transformers. The best! James
