In Live Recording, I will always have the ADAT and the DAT rolling, because I have had a hard drive screw-up on me, and the music keeps playing.
Never rely on just one medium....the tape you save just may be your own.
As for backing up masters, the DAT does a splended job, but (believe it or not) the HI FI VCR is rolling along beside it.
As for medium storage, the CD will win. Tapes deterioriate, I have 17 year old CD's that are as new.
