XLR Connections number sequence required

Is there a standard numbering for the three PINS on an XLR connection. Viewing the triangle of PINS on a male from a V shape. Top left is PIN one. Which are PINS two and three? The existing cables I have are unbalanced and use a bridge across PINS one and top right. The crossover manual I have say PINS one and three which it diagrams as top left and bottom centre.
If I am correct the female is a mirror image of the male so knowing which PINS relate to which numbers on one should give me the order on the other.
