I've been offered a chance to buy a Roland VS-880 Expanded for 800 dollars. I presently use a PC for audio production, primarily for a two hour syndicated radio show - basically a deejay host (me) and music tracks. Not real complicated. In evaluating this Roland (which is a 1996 design), I'm not sure it offers anything over what you can do with a PC nowadays.
Does anyone know the answers to the following:
1) Can the Roland interface with my PC allowing me to use the Roland as an outboard mixer for my PC based multitrack recording.
2) Can the Roland be set up to 'rip' cd's or do I have to load tracks into it in 'analog' mode?
3) Is this unit worth 800 bucks (I think it's probably never been used - looks real clean and untouched).
Thanks for any help.
- Bob
