I need focus on what the heck amp I require as new information has thrown me for a loop!I have a fairly decent DAW recording studio in my basement - to record and rehearse bands. Powering up some audiophile's hand-built huge monitors (they sound great to me)- I have been using the Yahmaha CA-610 II Integrated Stereo Amp (that I got second hand) to mix, monitor and play music through. I found some new info from the GENERAL audio thread of AudioAsylum.com on my old amp:

I thought we were playing fairly loud. So now I know I have been using an amp that only been 100 watts total (no better than the Alesis 100 RA amp, right? I've noticed I have been pushing the volume to 10 with a recent band set up and I need more power. Also, I have a annoying issue with the 610-II not turning on (meaning an audio signal isn't going through) when I turn the amp on immediate as I have to wait 15- 30 minutes before audio can kick through- (I will hear a quick hum and click- then the audio turns on). Sometimes, it takes much longer when it's colder in the room. I don't know what the issue is- so I NEED A NEW AMP! I did find this amp some place around town going for $70 though.
I was looking at the new QSC's RMX series amps. The RMX 850 is rated at 200 watts per channel through 8 ohm speakers and the RMX 1450 is rated 275 wpc. Now I thought my Yamaha 610-II Integrated amp was at least 200 watts, now finding out that it is only 50 watts does this mean I'm going to really notice a volume difference and most likely blow the roof off the place with these 200 wpc rated amps?
Any & all help, answers and suggestions appreciated!
thanks
