how do i connect my pro amp to my hi fi ?

I need some advice on using a Peavey PV 8.5C power amp in conjunction with my home system.I need to know how to deal with the connections between the hi fi pre amp(yam c 70)and the loudspeaker connections and any matching issues ,or basically,How do I do it?? RCA'S to balanced xlr's??The amp is from my previous band and it was purchased new ,weighs a ton and I got this feeling it could sound just great on my hi fi.I run big hi fi speakers so power handling not a problem.(I listen at low levels mostly)If someone could help me out on this I would be very grateful
