If you have a basic understanding of what an equalizer does, the learning curve is minimal.With a graphic EQ, the center frequency and bandwidth for each filter is preset, and your only control is the amount of cut or boost you want.
With a parametric EQ, you also have control over center frequency and bandwidth. Most parametrics also come with adjustable high-pass and low pass filters.
Do a Google search for "parametric equalizer" and explore.
