Once the image in un-zipped you will need to "Flash" it to a micro SD card for the Raspberry Pi. You can use balenaEtcher for that or dd from the Terminal window command line.
On newer macOS just double-click the file:

Mac OS X Catalina (10.15) is pretty old. Newer macOS will un-archive it natively with no third-party software. You can try The Unarchiver for Mac.
