I'm happy with the sound from my RPi and USB DAC too.

I've thought about this. Maybe the bouncy VU meters? Maybe the multiple streaming Apps built into the streamer? Maybe the internal M.2 SSD for local music?
The lower-end WiiM Ultra ($329) might be a better choice IF it can drive an external DAC.
