RE: Schiity Question

If you follow Jason Stoddard on Head-Fi.org, it is clear they experiment with lots of different projects, many of which never make it out the door. There are tons of streamers on the market and I suspect they just haven't come across a design that they feel would be unique enough to them.

Another thought is that streamers are basically dedicated computer boards, so a manufacturer is basically buying a PC board from someone else (whether Raspberry Pi or something fancier.) From that point on, it basically becomes an OS programming project along with cosmetic design, and perhaps adding a display. One of Schiit's best points is they control costs by using the same cases, parts and designs for multiple products. They may be of the opinion that a streamer might have too many custom requirements to build cost effectively.

But, Schiit does surprise from time to time with unexpected projects, so, who knows?
